Creating in the round is much different from creating on a square or rectangle. I had to play with the paper to allow it to bend a bit and crinkle to have it work around the corners. As I was creating this abstract tondo (round) I was rotating it as I usually do when creating abstract works and found myself wondering which end I would declare the top and bottom. Then, during one of the rotations I saw the flower and just knew how it would be.
With this collage, I wanted to include some photos of how it all started, some of the abstract work on paper I had created for this piece to tear up, and what my table shots looked like as well as a studio shot on my easel.
Materials used: watercolour paper, canvas, mixed media papers, acrylic paints, inks, pencil, drywall tape, wood panel, matte medium, Mod Podge, wire for the back, and sealant
