Welcome to my garden of whimsy where the blooms are bigger than usual and are filled with textured delight. Fresh-cut blooms from this garden of whimsy will last a lifetime and the vase they sit in is unique because it doesn’t need water to keep the blooms alive.
Two of these whimsical flowers were painted and then torn out of watercolour papers and for the middle flower, I sketched the shape of a flower on one of my abstract paintings on paper and then tore it out. I added it to the center of that flower with watercolour paper, inks, and drywall tape. The vase was created using an abstract painting I painted on canvas to allow for the texture of the canvas as well as the raw edges to be showcased.

Materials used: watercolour paper, canvas, mixed media papers, acrylic paints, inks, pencil, drywall tape, wood panel, matte medium, Mod Podge, wire for the back, and sealant
