Another grouping of whimsical flowers from my garden of whimsy where the blooms are bigger than usual and are filled with textured delight. Fresh-cut blooms from this garden of whimsy will last a lifetime and the vase they sit in is unique because it doesn’t need water to keep the blooms alive.
The colourful abstract work was created on paper first and then I sketched the shape of flowers. Following that process, I then tore it out. I added it to the center of that flower with watercolour paper, inks, and drywall tape. The vase was created using an abstract painting I painted on canvas to allow for the texture of the canvas as well as the raw edges to be showcased.
Materials used: watercolour paper, canvas, mixed media papers, acrylic paints, inks, pencil, drywall tape, wood panel, matte medium, Mod Podge, wire for the back, and sealant
