I grew up with a pink bedroom and a Nana whose favourite colour was pink. Everything was pink in her bedroom from her bedspread to her walls to her rug. It was all shades of pink. Creating the abstract painting on paper allowed my thoughts to drift to her and remember just how much pink she had around her. As I tore up the abstract and reassembled it on the wood panel I just let my thoughts take over and the matte medium stuck the papers down in an expressive way.
Materials used: watercolour paper, mixed media papers, acrylic paints, inks, pencil, drywall tape, wood panel, matte medium, Mod Podge, wire for the back, and sealant
